Pittsburgh Vintage Toy Buying Show Huge Success

Hundreds Turn Out With Their Vintage Toys & Collectibles

Pittsburgh, PA – America’s Toy Scout® and his Pittsburgh Vintage Toy Buying Show that just ended was a huge success.

“We had tons of people bringing their childhood toys and memorabilia,” said America’s Toy

Scout® Joel Magee, who hosted the show.

Yes, it was a blast from the past for Magee and the people who came out to the show which was held at three area hotels from April 14-18.

Based on more than 300 toy-buying shows in the past 15 years, Magee, who is the leading vintage toy expert in the country, said he can always expect to see people bring Pez dispensers, Star Wars and Beatles memorabilia, superhero figurines, baseball cards, 1940-60s comic books, as well as Shirley Temple dolls, Hot Wheels and Hummel figurines. “The types of toys and memorabilia that people dust off and bring to the show are too diverse to list. You cannot fathom the toys and games people have saved for decades,” he added.

And the people of Pittsburgh did not disappoint.

“Some of the toys people brought included lots of cool comic books and a great Star Wars collection. We even had Shirley Temple dolls, which just stepped off the Good Ship Lollipop, ” Magee said.

The Toy Scout®  offered on-the-spot payments for the popular toys from the 20th century and earlier to the hundreds of people who attended the show.

The show was also a major media event with Action News 4, KDKA Radio and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, which featured the show on Page 1 of its local section. Click this link to see the story online.

“The media loved us,” Magee said. “Whenever reporters and photographers come out to the show, they don’t want to leave. We really appreciate the coverage.”
